Attero

"How many times has it been so far?"

Attero is an exploration game highly inspired by Yume Nikki, by Kikiyama. You play as Aren, a young man who finds himself isolated in his room. Explore his dream world, meet characters, and unveil the stories and mysteries inside Aren's mind space.

To get a better experience, it's recommended to play Yume Nikki before Attero.

IMPORTANT: Attero is a reboot from my old project Akuma.

If the game throws an "RPG Maker 2003 RTP not found" error, you can do one of the following things to fix it:

Method 1: Install the RPG Maker 2003's RTP (Run Time Package) from the official website, which can be found here. Make sure to install the English version of the RTP. Once installed, the game should run correctly.

Method 2: Download EasyRPG Player, a cross-platform interpreter that can be found here. Place the executable inside Attero's folder, where the RPG_RT.exe is located, and run the program.

Q. There will be a Linux/MacOS/etc. version?

Unfortunately, no. As much as I would like to give support to other platforms, the engine I am using for Attero (RPG Maker 2003) does not count with the tools to give native support to other OS.

However, if you don't have Windows, you can still play it using EasyRPG Player. A download link can be found in the troubleshooting section.

Q. What will happen to Akuma? Will it be deleted?

The original project, Akuma, will not be deleted. I'm currently in the process of creating an Itch page to serve as an archive and provide an easier way to play it.

Q. Can I load an old Akuma savefile into Attero?

No. Akuma and Attero are pretty much two separate games and thus make them incompatible. I have no idea what can happen from that experiment.

Q. What is Distorted Dreams Project (DDP)?

"Distorted Dreams Project (DDP)" is the name I've given to all the games I will do based in the universe of Attero and Mendum Memoria. Currently Attero serves as the first installment (Part 1) and one of the perspectives (Side A).

Mendum Memoria eventually will be updated to indicate the same (Part 1) and with its respective perspective (Side B).

Q. Does that mean that Attero and Mendum Memoria are connected?

Yes. The events from both games happen in the same town. As for now, there are very few things that connect them, but eventually more things will be revealed.
